The shocking murder of Abhishek Ghosalkar, a leader associated with Shiv Sena-Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (Shiv Sena-UBT), during a Facebook Live session has prompted the Mumbai Crime Branch to take charge of the investigation.
The incident occurred at the office of Maurice Noronha in IC Colony, Borivali (West), where a video circulating on social media captures the attacker shooting Abhishek in the stomach and shoulder. The crime branch's investigation will delve into various aspects, including the acquisition of weapons by Noronha, the possible influence of alcohol, and the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The crime branch, along with local police, has visited the crime scene, and senior officials, including Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Lakhmi Gautam and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Raj Tilak Roshan, are actively involved in the investigation.
The Facebook Live session was intended to portray a resolution between Ghosalkar and Noronha for the betterment of the IC Colony area in Borivali. The decision to hand over the investigation to the Mumbai Crime Branch was made considering the gravity of the case and the comprehensive scope required for a thorough inquiry.
